Cleveland, Tennessee, resident Carolyn Seale has spent nearly 18 years with DENSO Manufacturing in nearby Athens. Before joining the exhaust, gasoline delivery, and ignition system manufacturer, Carolyn Seale studied industrial and engineering management at the University of North Carolina Asheville.
DENSO recently announced plans to open a new facility at Tokyo Haneda Airport. As an automated driving technology development and testing facility, the new location will support the company’s in-vehicle tests and proving ground trials processes for automated driving technologies. The facility will be particularly active with regard to mobility systems research and development (R&D). Earlier in the year, DENSO opened a global R&D facility for automated driving technologies in Minato City, Tokyo.
DENSO expects to commence with operations at the Haneda Airport facility in the summer of 2020. The announcement was made on the same day as the company’s 2018 first half financial results, which included a consolidated revenue total of $23.1 billion, up 11 percent from 2018.
